SPAZIAL EQ M/S

Spazial by SynthBlitz Audio is a legacy audio VST plugin designed for spatial expansion and Mid/Side (M/S) processing. It allows producers to encode, decode, and manipulate stereo audio fields. How M/S Works in the Plugin

In audio production, “Mid/Side” splits a stereo signal into two distinct components:

Mid (M): The mono information; the sounds that are identical in both the left and right speakers (usually kick drums, bass, and lead vocals).

Side (S): The stereo information; the sounds that differ between the left and right speakers (usually reverb tails, room sound, and wide-panned guitars). Key Features of Spazial

The Spazial plugin provides control over the stereo field using several specific processing modes:

Encoding & Decoding: It can convert a standard left-right (L/R) stereo signal into M/S signals, and vice versa.

5 Operational Modes: Functions in Internal, Send Mid, Send Side, Spazial, and Decoder modes.

5 Control Pots: Allows you to adjust and process the M/S signal directly with five potentiometers.

Built-in Filter & Vibrato: Includes a high-pass filter (useful for cleaning up low-end in the side signal) and a special vibrato control for extra movement. Practical Uses in Mixing/Mastering

With a plugin like Spazial, engineers can manipulate audio in ways a standard left/right equalizer cannot:

Adding Width: You can boost high frequencies on the Side channel to add “air” and perceived width without making the whole mix bright.

Cleaning up the Low End: You can roll off low frequencies (e.g., below 100 Hz) on the Side channel. This makes your sub-bass and kick dead-center and tight while retaining stereo width for the rest of the track.

Carving Out Space: You can cut specific mid-frequencies in the Mid channel to allow a lead vocal to sit cleanly in the center of the mix without competing with other mid-heavy instruments.
